A new Witchy series to get you ready for October and Halloween in the years to come. I was expecting this book to be more light hearted than it actually was, and to be quite honest, I don’t mind how dark it was. In fact, I’m really looking forward to the next installment of it.
It takes place in Salem, Massachusetts (because of course it does) and it’s about high school witch Hannah, her ex-girlfriend, Veronica, her best friend, Gemma, and the cute new girl, Morgan. But when there are blood sacrifices at high school parties, fires, and witches being attacked and killed, suddenly Hannah’s life becomes more serious and intense than it ever was before.
Mystery, daring escapes, cool magic, queer love, these are all things you can find in this book plus even more (good female friendship, different realistic family dynamics). I’m eagerly anticipating the next book in this series by Isabel Sterling. I hope we learn a little bit more about the magic system, I hope we get a lot bit more of the romance, and I hope we see the aftermath of the events of this book play out in an honest way.
