Tweet Cute

I know this book doesn’t come out until next year, but it’s so cute and funny that I just have to start telling people about it now or I’m going to burst. Thank you, NetGalley, for granting my wish and letting me read this super fluffy with a dash of angst and drama YA contemporary.

Such a stinking cute book!!! I swear I am filled to the brim with joy and charm and laughter and cheese. This was such a cute story about two teens, Jack and Pepper, going through their senior year of high school experiencing midterms, college applications, extracurriculars and to top it all off, a twitter war. This premise is a bit bizarre not gonna lie but it worked so well. It was just so unfathomably cute, no wonder it’s in the title.

Pepper and Jack have a trope that is undoubtedly one of my favorites, in fact it has been in almost every book that I have loved this year and that is Hate – to – Love. I live for that trope! And for a ya contemporary, this was done really well and subtly and slowly. The chipping away at preconceived notions and opinions, the getting to know someone for real bit by bit. All while having quick, witty banter and a genuine friendship and friends that don’t disappear once the story starts focusing on the main character’s main plot line.

I think Emma Lord did a great job at blending modern media into a book without it coming across as an adult trying to be cool. I’ve read (or tried to read) books like that and it hurts. This, this was refreshing and just on the nose of knowing things without trying to prove that you know things.

Ugh I can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy of this! I just want to add it to my collection of cute romcoms of 2019 and reread it whenever the mood strikes me.
