Hella queer fencing at an all boys school, mark me down as interested. This graphic novel has been around for a while, in fact the third volume is out already, but I like to wait a bit before diving into slow burns… I need to know it’s worth it haha.
A solid start to a slow burn, hate-to-love, m/m romance, this volume was a whole heck ton of exposition, and, not gonna lie, felt like exposition the entire time even though the plot was moving forward. I think that’s why I gave it three stars in the end, there was action, but it was very passive. Does that make sense? That seems counterintuitive, but I promise it makes sense. I have a feeling that the second or third volume will be better, I’m just worried that the second one will be a continuation of the first. I’ve heard enough good things though that I’m willing to take the risk.
C.S. Pacat knows how to write good angsty, hate to love, m/m fiction so like don’t get me wrong, I’m continuing on.
